Maps
Maps are a necessary tool to researchers especially for those researchers living abroad. There are many sources for good maps - check your local library for historical atlases and other world maps.

The major source of Irish maps is the Ordnance Survey which covered all of Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales since 1800. You can visit the Ordnance Office online and search for place names here: Ordnance Survey Office, Dublin.
